Isn't that great! We're on the cover of Time Magazine!
Yup, you and me, at least you are too if you're using a
computer.
Time's 'Person Of The Year' is the Internet! I read the preview
edition and while there are few surprises, the phenomenon is
not the big sale like YouTube.com but the power that is
available to us all.
Many should be asking the question, 'Am I using this power to
my advantage?' The slackers are watching YouTube for hours
on end while marketers are making money on YouTube.
Pimply faced teens are gathering 'friends' on MySpace while
marketers are using it to make more money. Some of those
marketers are also pimply faced teens.
Therein lies the power of the Big 'I.' A choice of how to use it,
fun, profit or both. It's truly a non-discriminating force.
Mouse potato or mouse marketer. Mickey would be so jealous.
The educated to the otherwise ignorant, all can profit. The
challenge is that so many are so overwhelmed with
information that they don't know which way to move.
I was frozen in place when I began taking on information about
how to market on the web. It was overwhelming! Oy!
Now, as I guide some of my clients through the labyrinth of
web marketing strategies, I still cannot claim guru status.
That's it. I am not a guru!
However, I've often recommended everything from books to
software to seminars to my clients and subscribers that I've
either read, used or reviewed or have powerful testimony from
trusted sources about these products.
There has never been a time when more information was available
to more people, and it comes to us at the speed of light.
You not only have good information available to you, you have
terrible information that looks good. It will often take a little research
and more than a little discernment to make the right decisions.
But if you want to market online or just promote yourself or your
business, now is the time begin. I'll be adding a new blog where I'll
be making recommendations and reviews of online products from a
non-guru viewpoint.
